(Newswire.net — February 3, 2014) Salt Lake City, UT —  Google announced it will add Google Glass the ability to attach prescription lenses to the device, its most in-demand feature since it began development of the wearable the computer interface.

The prescription lenses is likely to be obtainable in a collection of just designed, fashion-aware frames that’ll cost $225 each. Dubbed the “Titanium Line” this option will sport four frame contours called curve, split, thin and bold. The outside of all the Titanium frames are a natural titanium color, but there will be four choices for accent colors. Google is also planning to add three options for non-perscription tinted lenses that’ll cost $150 each.

Fusing Google Glass with prescription lenses could result in its own array of issues, because wearers can not take them off without limiting their vision, as well as the Internet-empowered glasses are not welcome everywhere.

The move is the most recent attempt by Google to make the beta version of its own linked eyewear more hip and consumer friendly before it releases the product to the broader public toward the conclusion of 2014.

Google is confident these kinds of problems will probably be resolved as Glass becomes more common and folks learn to recognize when the device is turned on or off. Presently there is no gauge light but when the device is on, a faint light can be seen by other people to the Glass screen.

Last month, an Ohio guy was questioned by federal and local law enforcement for wearing his Google Glass during a movie. The authorities feared he was covertly recording the movie until he clarified the eyewear was turned off and connected to a pair of prescription frames. (He had purchased the custom frames for $600 through a third party.)

Driving while wearing Glass too is a thorny problem in several states, including California, where a girl was ticketed last year for wearing the apparatus while behind the wheel. The citation was ultimately dismissed, but since many people need their prescription glasses to drive, there may be an uptick in the number of motorists sporting Google Glass while behind the wheel.

You still can not eaisly pop Google Glass off one frame and onto another, since the procedure demands undoing a tiny screw. While the task is simple enough, the system is not meant for frequent framework changes. Google is betting that people will be so comfortable wearing Google Glass they won’t have to pick between Google Glass and prescription spectacles.

“We are going to reach some day, hopefully it’ll be soon, where folks will wonder ‘why would I need traditional glasses? They do not do X, Y or Z,’ ” said Google Glass Merchandise Director Steve Lee.

“Sometimes I need to venture out as well as I want to be seen, I want people to talk if you ask me about Glass. I have actually uncovered glass to function as the most social experience ever,” said Lee. “But other times I only want to go about my company, remain low key.”
