(Newswire.net – March 9, 2013) Camarillo, CA -- Local healthcare executive Mary Taylor is attending the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) 2013 National Healthcare Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. This health insurance industry forum is a two-day intensive program designed to help health plans prepare to meet the challenges and opportunities of 2013 and beyond.
According to AHIP’s website, “AHIP’s National Policy Forum features senior Administration officials, Governors, key Members of Congress and their staff, along with recognized experts from across the spectrum.” The conference topics include ACA implementation, affordability, benefit design, delivery system reforms, health exchanges, hospital consolidation and Medicaid expansion.
Ms. Taylor is very concerned with the effect of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on health insurance subscribers, healthcare insurance companies and health care providers. “Most insurance companies and providers are unprepared to comply with ACA and future regulations” says Ms. Taylor.
Ms. Taylor leadership experience implementing the ACA, the first mandatory government healthcare initiative, into Wellpoint’s operations gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities ACA represents.
“Future healthcare leaders are those who can act quickly to adapt to ACA” said Ms. Taylor. “The change this brings to the industry is daunting, the challenges are real, and experience in this arena is lacking. I hope to be able to help with that and positively influence future health care trends.”
“I am honored to be in the company of so many other health care leaders who are shaping the future of the industry. I am looking forward to sharing my recent experiences, which cover every facet of the conference. I hope my contributions will lead to better healthcare for more American families.”
