(Newswire.net — August 3, 2015) — Two men exchanged fire after arguing Saturday evening in Cincinnati, FOX19 reported.

After arguing with a woman outside an apartment complex in the 5100 block of Holland Drive, 62-year-old Thomas McCary returned with a gun in each hand and started shooting at four people – including a 1-year-old boy.

The woman’s brother returned fire with his handgun for which he owns a concealed carry permit, according the Cincinnati police.

The police said in a statement that McCary was wounded, and is being held without bond on four counts of felonious assault.

According to the police, McCary was arguing with a woman at 8 pm Sunday night. The incident occurred when the woman’s brother, Patrick Ewing, approached. McCary then pulled out a 38-caliber handgun and fired three shots at him, missing all three times.

Then Ewing pulled his own gun and returned fire, hitting McCary in the leg.

Injured, McCary went into his house to get a second gun and, in Wild West manner holding a weapon in each hand, he fired three shots in the direction of the woman, Jeaneta Walker, her 1-year-old son and her brother.

Ewing fired at McCary again to try to distract him as the victims rushed indoors. McCary shota few more rounds, without hitting anyone, before withdrawing into his apartment, Cincinnati.com reported.

McCary was treated for his gunshot wound in the leg in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was arrested at 2:30 am. He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail by 3:42 am, and scheduled to face a judge Monday morning.

Residents said it was a miracle no one was killed in the bullet exchange in a showdown that lasted a couple of minutes.

Also, it is fortune McCay wasn’t in possession of an automated weapon for the consequences would have surely been greater.
