(Newswire.net — April 9, 2017) — Former Baywatch actress, Pamela Anderson, was frequently spotted visiting the Ecuadorian embassy in London. When questioned about her interest in this country, she revealed she is actually interested in the most popular embassy resident, Julian Assange.
Anderson told People magazine that she “loves” Assange for his “romantic struggle” to “free the world.”
Former Baywatch diva told the magazine she understands the publicity her affair with Assange has drawn on them, but chose not to disclose any private details.
Anderson, however, revealed she loves her long talks with the WikiLeaks founder, whom she considers to be a “very good teacher.”
Anderson, who has been spotted visiting Assange at the embassy on numerous occasions, said: “I understand that our ‘affair’ and the curiosity surrounding that might bring some attention to his situation.”
Anderson was vague on explaining her relationship with Julian Assange. When asked directly to define the relationship, she replied it is “challenging.”
“Julian is one of my favorite people. He is a refugee. He might be the most famous refugee of our time – famous for being persecuted,” she added.
Swedish authorities questioned Assange in 2010, after alleges that he raped and sexually molested two women. Assange admitted he had sex with the women in question, but claimed it was consensual as he was actively pursued by both of them.
Assange adamantly denied the allegations.
Swedish authorities had let him leave the country but issued an Interpol warrant for his arrest. Assange was arrested in 2012 in London, but was after released on bail, with his lawyer additionally charging him almost half a million pounds in fees and costs. He then entered the Ecuadorian embassy and was granted a political asylum, avoiding extradition.
“I’m going to actually start campaigning for men who have been victims of being accused of rape when they haven’t actually done anything,” Anderson told Russia Today, arguing that Sweden has very progressive laws against sexual crimes. “It’s almost too progressive, it’s almost paralyzing,” she added.
The former actress was first introduced to Assange in 2014 by designer Vivienne Westwood, after which she was frequently seen visiting him at the embassy, carrying him goods he couldn’t normally acquire. Recently, she was spotted carrying vegan cheeseburgers into the embassy, Assange’s favorite fast food meal.
The WikiLeaks founder never left the Ecuadorian embassy since he asked for asylum in 2012.
