(Newswire.net — April 30, 2014) Vancouver, BC — Delta Vancouver Suites partnered with Poplar Grove Winery to hold their Second Annual Community Table: Tastes of BC Fundraising Event on Friday April 25th, 2014. Proceeds from the event went to the Downtown Eastside organization, Mission Possible.

The event, which was held at Delta Vancouver Suites, featured a five course meal expertly prepared by Executive Chef Aleks and staff from the hotel. Each dish was paired with amazing wines from Poplar Grove Winery. Poplar Grove Wine Maker and Owner/Business Partner, Ian Sutherland was on hand to expertly describe and tell the story behind each wine.

This culinary journey took people from sea to field with ingredients from local farmers and purveyors of British Columbia. Some of the menu items included herb roasted beef tenderloin paired with 2009 Poplar Grove Cabernet Sauvignon and Smoked West Creek Trout paired with 2012 Poplar Grove Chardonnay.

“Every year we ask our staff which local organizations they would like to continue to support and every year our staff unanimously agrees to support Mission Possible. We love the work that they accomplish on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside with people who are challenged by homelessness and poverty,” said Peter Catarino, Delta Vancouver Suites General Manager. Peter added, “It’s also a great chance for our staff to display their many talents and it’s incredibly fun for everyone who participates.”
