(Newswire.net — February 16, 2018) Orlando, FL — There are many diseases that impact millions of people nowadays. These diseases can cause life-changing effects to sufferers and even negatively impact their overall quality of life. There are alternatives thought to be helpful in fighting or managing infections, such as omega-3 fats.

A study reveals that DHA may increase resistance to pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. This condition is caused by strains of bacteria that are typically found in the environment. There are serious pseudomonas that usually impact people with a weakened immune system or those in the hospital.

Infections that affect the blood or result in pneumonia after a surgical procedure often lead to severe ailment or even death. Mild pseudomonas aeruginosa can effect healthy people. It usually happens when one is exposed to water.

For instance, when individuals, especially children, are exposed in inadequately chlorinated swimming pools or hot tubs, they may suffer from ear infections and skin rashes. Eye infections may also take place due to prolonged use of contact lenses.

There are risk factors of the condition such as those using catheters or breathing machines. Individuals with wounds from surgery or burns may be at risk of life-threatening situations. This infection can easily be spread through contaminated hands or equipment.

Routine infection control practices may significantly lower the risk of infection. Treatments also include the use of antibiotics since the source is most likely hospital bacteria. Unfortunately, the infection becomes more difficult to treat due to the increasing antibiotic resistance.

DHA is a form of omega-3 fatty acids, which are believed to be highly therapeutic. Omega-3 fats can be found in fish such as tuna, sardines, and cod. DHA can also be efficiently obtained through supplementation.

In a laboratory study, it was found that that mice treated with DHA have experienced an increase in survival after infection. DHA as well as a type of omega-3 fat called EPA are thought to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

The use of fish oil supplements is believed to be an effective preventive measure for individuals who are at risk of pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.

While omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA and EPA may be obtained from eating fish, they can also be conveniently and efficiently consumed through supplementation. Fish oil supplements are believed to contain high concentrations of omega-3 fats such as DHA and EPA.

What makes supplementation even more potentially beneficial is that supplements are believed to have reduced levels of environmental pollutants, which are abundantly found in some fish. There are highly reputable herbal supplement manufacturers who use a molecular distillation process.

This distillation process is believed to be effective in reducing levels of toxins and heavy metals from fish oil.
