(Newswire.net — June 19, 2018) Orlando, FL — Today, there are many people who struggle with health problems affecting the bones. This is why many researchers and clinicians continue to investigate how to protect bone health.

According to Mayo Clinic researchers, there is a causal link between senescent cells and bone loss in mice. It is worth mentioning that these cells are associated not just with aging, but also age-related disease.

It has been found that targeting these cells may potentially result in an increase in bone mass and strength.

The findings of this interesting study were published in the Nature Medicine.

The National Osteoporosis Foundation revealed that, in the United States, it has been found that nearly 44 million people 50 years old and above are susceptible to low bone mass and osteoporosis.

According to Sundeep Khosla, M.D., it has been unclear what the role of cell senescence is in osteoporosis. This is despite the fact that in previous work, it has been found the buildup of senescent cells leads to tissue dysfunction.

Khosla is the director of the Aging Bone and Muscle program at Mayo Clinic’s Robert and Arlene Kogod Center on Aging.

It is important to understand that bone is a living tissue, and it is constantly being broken down and replaced.

The condition called osteoporosis takes place when new bone production is unable to keep up with the elimination of the old bone.

In this study, the investigators utilized multiple approaches in targeting senescent cells in mice. The subjects had established bone loss and were between 20 and 22 months of age, which in humans is more than 70 years.

The aging population continues to increase and age-related bone loss also goes up with it. Osteoporosis has become an enormous public health problem, not just in the United States, but in many areas around the globe.

Some researchers are investigating the effects of certain B vitamins in the prevention of osteoporosis. It is worth realizing that vitamin B12 plays a significant role in bone health.

A study was conducted by epidemiologist Katherine Tucker at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston.

It was found that in men, there is a link in between vitamin B12 deficiency and osteoporosis.

In the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, it was further found that similar results also applied in women.

The findings of this study were based on the blood levels of vitamin B12 and bone health indicators. It involved 2,576 men and women who participated in the Framingham Osteoporosis Study.

There are actually other B vitamins found to have disease-fighting, health-enhancing benefits. It may be helpful to take into account the use of Purest Vantage B Vitamin Complex for overall health purposes.

It contains Choline, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Pantothenic acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin and vitamin B6.
