Emerging Study Now Reveals How Stretch Marks Develop

An analysis in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology has revealed that some 40 to 90 percent of people in the United States develop stretch marks.

Scientists added they are normally found in the chest, abdomen, thighs and groin. While stretch marks normally happen to women, they can also occur in teenagers and men.

Research showed that about 90 percent of pregnant women end up having stretch marks. Some experts suggest that the likelihood of getting stretch marks during pregnancy is partly influenced by genetic factors.
