Researchers Say OPCs in Grape Seed Are Therapeutic

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, extracts of grape seed have the potential to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in the stomach, colon, breast, lungs, and prostate. 

Grape seed further has the potential to prevent and treat hormone-dependent breast cancer. An enzyme called aromatase, works by converting androgen to estrogen. It is expressed at high levels in case of breast cancer tissues than normal tissues. 

Researchers reveal that estrogen fuels various types of breast cancer. This is why some chemotherapy medications work as they tend to inhibit the activity of aromatase. Grape seed extract has been found to offer the same effects naturally.
