(Newswire.net — November 6, 2018) — Rarely does one find a person who over-exercises, like seriously going over-board as most of us act as if we’re allergic to the gym but there are some fitness enthusiasts who can’t get enough exercise. However, this can cost them more than they could imagine. Bones and muscles can actually start to deteriorate prematurely which causes a whole host of problems throughout the entire body.
“Rhabdomyolysis occurs when skeletal muscle tissue breaks down quickly and the damaged cells enter the bloodstream and disrupt kidney function, which can cause sometimes-fatal kidney failure,” explains Everyday Health. “Rhabdo symptoms include muscle pain, weakness and swelling of the affected muscles, and dark, tea-colored urine, caused by presence of the protein myoglobin.”
“Overdoing your workouts can actually lead to diminished strength and increased body fat—your body’s way of begging for a break,” says Corey Stenstrup, performance development trainer at IMG Academies. “While your body can handle a particularly tough workout, it also needs time to recover from the stress overload.”
The more strained your body becomes, the worst you will feel and this of course carries over into your emotions. As all sorts of hormones flood your system in the wrong proportions, you’ll easily find yourself being less motivated to follow through with certain tasks, experience lowed self-esteem and in severe instances, depression.
On the physical side of it all, you’ll be walking, talking and sleeping with constant soreness, while this is normal for a couple days after a decent workout, when it extends beyond three days then you know something ain’t right on the inside, especially if the pain emerges in areas you didn’t actually work on at the gym.
