According to Laura, her work as a registered nurse and her passion for pet rescue volunteering are both based on her commitment to helping those in need. A registered nurse with more than 25 years of experience, she has worked with thousands of patients of all ages, helping them benefit from emotional support, professional health advice, and competent medical care.
Laura is also actively involved in the Wake Forest, North Carolina community, being a member of the Saint Catherine’s of Sienna Catholic Church, and a happily married mother of four.
She said, “I love helping the sick, young and poor. Being a nurse was my lifetime dream, and pancreatic cancer and finding a cure is a huge challenge for me as I lost my beautiful amazing mom at 72, in 2016.”
Her volunteer work with Love Mutts Rescue involves actively helping abandoned or sick dogs from various locations in North Carolina and Virginia. The non-profit organization provides abandoned dogs with appropriate medical care and places them in foster homes which can provide the love and care they need.
Laura Marie Janke graduated from North Carolina Central University with a BSN while working full time at Duke University and supporting her four children. She received her RN in 1993 from Morris County College in Randolph NJ.
