The parents further went on to state that her disappearance is ‘unusual behaviour’ and ‘gives us great concern for her safety.’

The Lucie Blackman Trust have also released a statement, stating that the ‘first few days are vitally important’ when searching for a missing person, especially when searching for a missing person overseas.

Catherine Shaw has been described as being 170cm tall and of a slim build, with blonde hair, blue eyes and piercings in her lip, nose and ear.

About the Lucie Blackman Trust

The Lucie Blackman trust was set up after Lucie Blackman, from which the name of the charity comes from, went missing in Tokyo after Japan. Lucie was an air hostess, who at the time was working at a hostess bar in Tokyo.

The family searched for Lucie for months, but struggled with the difficulty of language barriers, red tape and the massive financial cost of trying to find someone in a country that was not their own.

Unfortunately, Lucie was eventually found deceased in a seaside cave in Japan.

What followed after was a painful legal process that took almost ten years, and the family vowed that no other family should have to experience the same stress and trauma that they did, and so the Lucie Blackman trust was set up in her honour.
