(Newswire.net — March 27, 2019) Winnetka, IL — Infertility is often perceived to be a female reproductive health issue. However, infertility doesn’t just affect women but also men.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has long been fixating on women. In the United States, it tracks infertility by looking into the number of infertile women.

Liberty Barnes says that it is as if the entire medical realm is shaped to cater to women’s infertility and women’s bodies.

Barnes is a sociologist and the author of Conceiving Masculinity: Male Infertility, Medicine, and Identity.

“For men, there’s just nothing there,” she adds.

Hagai Levine is The Hebrew University public health researcher and is the former chief epidemiologist for the Israel Defense Forces.

Levine worked with Shanna Swan, a professor of environmental medicine and public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, to track the levels of male sperm over decades.

According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the male partner is either the contributing or the sole cause in infertility cases by about 40 percent.

Scientists found that male infertility spirals down around mid-30s.

Barbara Collura, the president and CEO of Resolve: the National Infertility Association, reveals that men are a huge part of this problem.

The findings of Levine and Swan’s work have shown that sperm levels are declining throughout much of the world, including the United States.

Scientists have been investigating the therapeutic powers of medicinal herbs like ashwagandha.

According to researchers, ashwagandha has demonstrated its potential to make a huge, positive difference in the lives of men who suffer from infertility.

In animal studies, its use led to improvements in sexual parameters. This is believed to be take place due to its ability to mimic testosterone.

It has further been found this herb was able to increase testicular weight, pro-sexual behavior, and daily sperm generation.

Ashwagandha even increased the diameter of seminiferous tubules. It is worth mentioning these tubules produce sperms and the many seminiferous tubular cell layers in the testes.

It exerts another mechanism to reduce sperm oxidative damage. Researchers have long revealed that high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the semen could induce oxidative damage to the sperm.

They are also linked with abnormal sperm parameters, which results in infertility.

Research found that ashwagandha acts as an antioxidant and fight such a damage. What makes it even more beneficial is that it inhibits lipid peroxidation and reduces oxidative stress.

Aside from fighting male infertility, it is worth mentioning this natural remedy can also work wonders in delivering many other health benefits.

It can be obtained through the use of supplements like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha (amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
