(Newswire.net — April 27, 2019) — The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections that will begin shortly. It has also released it’s 2019 manifesto, which they are referring to as “pledges” that they wish to achieve by India’s 75th year of independence in 2022.

Today, we are speaking to Ganesh Malviya bhopal, an aspiring contestant and great BJP election campaign manager.  Hailing from Bhopal and very well known in Madhya Pradesh BJP,  Ganesh Malviya has managed election campaigns for some of the parties biggest leaders, such as Kailash Vijayvargiya, Ghanshyam Tiwari, and Narendra Singh Tomar. He has also done election management in various states including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. Ganesh Malviya of BJP worked closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in his political career.  Because of his skill in micromanagement, BJP has sent Malviya to many states of India as the BJP campaign head.

Key Points of the BJP 2019 Manifesto

The BJP has made a point of stating that, rather than use the term “manifesto”, they are using the term “pledge document”.  Can you tell what this means?

Yes, of course.  The BJP party wanted to differentiate themselves in comparison to other running parties.  The idea behind this is that the party has 75 Milestones for India to be reached in 2022, the 75th year of India’s independence.  These are goals that the BJP wish to reach in that time, based on the progress the party has made in the past 5 years. The idea behind the BJP 2019 Manifesto is that we have worked towards fulfilling peoples needs, and now we want to work towards fulfilling their aspirations.

One of the key points of the BJP Manifesto promises more help to farmers and an extension of the PM-KISAN.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi originally focused on smaller farmers who had less than 4.9 acres of land to use for farming.  The initiative supports their income and this will now be extended to all farmers in India. The goal here is to double the farmers’ income by the 75 year anniversary.  We wish to offer aid with short term agricultural loans with a 0% rate of interest and offer pensions to both marginal and small farmers who have reached the age of 60.

We are also looking into making a change in crop patterns in order to diversify what is being grown in the country.  I believe Nitkin Gadkari spoke on this recently, about having farmers produce fuel from agricultural products as part of the plan.

On the question of national security, what is the BJP’s plan?

The BJP’s security doctrine has a zero tolerance guideline towards terrorism.  We want to provide security forces that have the freedom to curb any terrorism and extremist activity.  As part of this, BJP is making efforts to fast forward the acquisition of any outstanding weapons and equipment that are defense-related.  We want people to feel safe and to do this we need strong national security options.

There are three factors that need to be considered for any action to be taken in national security. The first is manpower, such as the army and paramilitary.  The second relates to weapons and military infrastructure. The third is political will and political desire is the most important factor of these three. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seen strong political will.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established himself as a leader, not only in India but also as a hard decision maker in the rest of the world. The Congress and UPA governments have not done enough work on these three, owing to their commission based ideology.

I see that the Citizenship Amendment Bill is back on the manifesto.  This was a controversial move that saw many riots not too long ago.

The purpose of the Citizenship Amendment Bill was aimed at protecting the cultural, linguistic, and social identity of our North-East people, and this is something that BJP is committed to still.  The aim is to assist minorities, such as Hindus, to move to the country from the surrounding countries that are mostly Muslim. We have much to consider first after the response from the indigenous communities.

Many have seen this bill as being anti-Muslim, is this true?

No, not at all.  The bill states that citizenship will be provided to non-Muslim migrants from the Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan area.  The only reason that Muslims were excluded is that it is aimed at giving Indian nationality only to those religious minorities that are fleeing persecution.

What can you tell us about the promise to eliminate Article 370 and 35A of the Constitution?

We feel that Article 35A discriminates against women and residents who are of non-permanent states in Jammu and Kashmir.  We feel this is an obstacle to the state’s development that needs to be done away with for future growth. Article 370 has given autonomous status to both the state of Jammu and Kasmir, allowing for self-governance.  Both of these Articles give special privileges only to those who reside there and cuts off outsiders. People are not allowed to be hired if they are not a permanent resident, they have no access to government scholarship schemes, and women have no property rights if they marry someone outside of the state.  All of this is detrimental to the area’s growth and has led to many issues that, in our eyes, should no longer be issues.

In the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “We want to work towards building a strong and inclusive India.  A country whose citizens have the assurance of prosperity, security, dignity, and opportunity.”

Another key point in BJP manifesto is healthcare.  What can you tell us about this?

Our main goal with healthcare is to make healthcare more affordable and accessible.  Our citizens should have access to necessary medical services that are affordable, which includes drugs and medical devices.  The BJP plans to open 75 medical colleges, PG medical colleges, and 1.5 Lakh health and wellness centers by 2022. To date, we have made 17,150 centers functional and the next step is to bring these to the next level, which will involve facilities for diagnostic laboratories and telemedicine.

We also strive to have at least one medical college in each district by 2024, with around 75 of these being set up by the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.  We feel there needs to be more doctors in the country and the way to do this is to have more Medical Colleges for training.

India is said to have the largest Tuberculosis burden of all countries.  What are the plans for this?

The main issues we will focus on are immunization, TB eradication, and countryside nutrition. Part of eradicating the TB problem is to have children and pregnant women properly immunized against it, which we plan to do by 2022.

How does the BJP plan to help middle-income families through taxes?

To help the economy, we need middle-class families to have more purchasing power.  By revising tax slabs and tax benefits, we can ensure that this sector has access to more cash.  This also raises our ranking in the country for being able to do business easily. We aspire to make India the 3rd largest economy worldwide by 2030, and a $5 trillion USD economy by 2025.

Tell us more about the key point of welfare and poverty.

We have many families, over 50 million, living far below the line of poverty and this is an area that we wish to bring down to single digits over the next 5 years.  Part of the plan is to ensure that families who live in either kuchha houses or who have no access to housing will be given a pucca house.

Ganesh Malviya Madhya Pradesh BJP will continue to lead the BJP campaign for the 2019 elections.  You can find out more about the BJP 2019 Manifesto and its key points on many local news sites.
