(Newswire.net — March 30, 2020) Winnetka, IL — More and more research studies are looking into the effects of stress on overall health. In a study, emotional stress has been found to be more likely to physically affect younger women with heart disease.

The study compared the effects on these women versus men with heart disease and seniors of both genders.

This research actually included 534 patients of stable coronary heart disease. They were provided with a mental stress test that involved recalling a stressful life event as well as talking about it to a small audience.

It is worth noting that the findings of this study were presented at the American Heart Association annual meeting in Chicago.

According to the nuclear imaging performed during the test, women aged 55 and younger had a decrease in blood flow to the heart that was thrice times greater than men of the same age.

It is further worth noting that women aged 56 to 64 had coronary blood flow reduction twice that of men the same age.

Dr. Viola Vaccarino says that women who develop heart disease at a younger age make up a special high-risk group because they are disproportionally vulnerable to emotional stress.

Dr. Vaccarino was study author and chairwoman of cardiovascular research and epidemiology at Emory University’s School of Public Health.

Experts have long been stressing the importance of taking the most helpful measures in reducing stress levels. There are actually science-backed remedies like ashwagandha found to ease stress and anxiety.

This Ayurvedic herb continues to gain increasing attention in the scientific community. It is an adaptogenic herb found to aid in the body’s ability to adapt to stress. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it could also work wonders in strengthening the systems of the body.

Ashwagandha is a herb from India that has been used for centuries as a general body tonic and has recently been the subject of a number of clinical trials showing impressive results. A tonic, in popular terms, is something that makes you feel better, stronger, and healthier.

A cutting-edge double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial was carried out and it involved 64 adults with a history of chronic stress.

The results of this research were published in the Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine.

The investigators treated half of the subjects with 300 mg of ashwagandha extract twice a day for 60 days, and half with placebo.

They found that those treated with ashwagandha achieved a reduction in the levels of the stress hormone called cortisol by 28 percent.

Ashwagandha is not just known for its stress-busting benefits, but also for the other healing effects it could produce. Today, there are many who resort to the use of formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha (http://amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
