(Newswire.net — April 13, 2020) Orlando, FL — Millions of people in the United States alone suffer from arthritis. While this condition is notoriously known for its symptoms like pain, a study has shown that it is more alarming than it is previously thought.

A study was published in the Rheumatology International journal.

In this research carried out by the University of Toronto, it has been found that 1 in every 26 men suffering from arthritis have tried committing suicide compared to 1 in 50 men without the condition. It is similarly worth mentioning that women with arthritis had an increased prevalence of lifetime suicide attempts than non-sufferers.

The findings have shown that those with arthritis had 46 percent odds of committing suicide than those without the condition. This remained true despite the adjustments made involving essential factors like chronic pain, age, income, and a history of mental health disorders.

According to the lead author, they found that those who suffered from chronic parental domestic violence or sexual abuse during childhood had over three times the risk of suicide attempts. It was compared to adults with arthritis without the childhood adversities.

The study’s lead author is Esme Fuller-Thomson, Sandra Rotman Endowed Chair at University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work & Institute for Life Course & Aging.

“The magnitude of these associations with suicide attempts was comparable to that associated with depression, the most well-known risk factor for suicide attempts,” said lead author Esme Fuller-Thomson.

This is just one of the studies scientists carried out to learn more about arthritis and its effects on health and overall life quality. There have also been studies looking into the natural remedies potentially beneficial for the condition.

Glucosamine is one of the most popular natural remedies for joint pain. This therapeutic compound is widely used not just by individuals with arthritis, but also athletes.

In multiple research studies, glucosamine has been able to demonstrate its ability to repair joint cartilage damage. This is one of the major reasons why it is helpful in cases of arthritis.

Scientists have also revealed glucosamine aids in strengthening the joint cartilage. It may even reduce physical limitations, which is one of the reasons why many individuals with arthritis resort to its use.

Formulas like VitaBreeze Glucosamine are widely resorted to nowadays, especially among individuals who aim to strengthen their joint health. This supplement contains not just glucosamine but also chondroitin, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), and turmeric.

The added ingredients it contains make it even more superior than other brands (www.amazon.com/Glucosamine-Chondroitin-Turmeric-Dietary-Supplement/dp/B00DUMO9X4).
