(Newswire.net — April 20, 2020) Orlando, FL — Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are two totally different conditions. However in a study, it has been found they could be potentially related.

A study carried out in Ontario, Canada has shown that over 4 in 10 female asthma sufferers may eventually develop COPD.

This research was carried out in the Annals of the American Thoractic Society.

Teresa To, PhD, spearheaded the study and revealed that of the 4,051 women with asthma included in their study, 1,701, or 42 percent, eventually suffered from COPD. It is further worth noting that in this study, the subjects were tracked for around 14 years after asthma diagnosis.

Dr. To is a professor in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Toronto in Canada.

“Previous studies have found an alarming rise in ACOS in women in recent years and that the mortality rate from ACOS was higher in women than men,” says Dr. To.

The investigators looked into the risk factors of asthma and COPD overlap syndrome, known as ACOS. It has been found that those who develop ACOS were more likely to suffer from exacerbations and hospitalizations.

Further, they have a lower quality of life than those who have asthma or COPD alone.

Today, more and more researchers are looking into the therapeutic effects of some natural remedies for asthma and even COPD.

It is worth noting that this therapeutic spice has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine for various therapeutic purposes. In terms of asthma, turmeric has been found to aid in reducing swelling in the airways.

Many of the therapeutic benefits of turmeric are thought to come from the curcumin it contains. This phytochemical possesses genoprotective, anticoagulant, antiseptic, anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, antifungal, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.

It also contains anti-cytotoxic, adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, insulin-sensitizing, androgenic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anticatabolic agents.

These are healing ingredients found to work wonders in battling a range of diseases and disorders. Its strong inflammation-fighting activity has been found helpful for COPD, which has inflammation as a characteristic feature.

Scientists also say that curcumin could work wonders in decreasing inflammation found in respiratory ailments.

As an antioxidant, curcumin has been found to fight free radical damage and alleviate oxidative stress. Due to its ability to fight oxidative stress, it is recommended as a treatment for COPD.

To experience its benefits, it is wise to consider the use of formulas like VitaBreeze Curcumin. This supplement may aid in delivering top-quality and pure curcumin (http://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
