Buying CBD Oil Online? 7 Things You Should Know First

(Newswire.net — May 6, 2020) — The great thing about CBD oil is that it’s available in all 50 states for purchase online. The bad thing about CBD oil is that most of the CBD sold is online. Online sales are difficult because you can’t see or sample the products before making your purchase. There’s also a lot of misinformation online that can make the purchasing process confusing.

You can purchase high quality CBD online, but you’ll want to be prepared first. Here are seven things to consider.

1. Avoid Major Sites Like Amazon

If you’re like most Americans, Amazon is one of your first stops when you shop online; however, it’s not ideal for CBD purchases.

According to a detailed blog post from Penguin CBD, Amazon and other major sites like it should be avoided when purchasing online CBD. “Amazon has banned products containing CBD — but that doesn’t mean you can’t obtain them shopping there,” the article states.

Furthermore, the article discusses how CBD is often mislabeled and contains less CBD than advertised. You run the risk of purchasing lesser quality CBD, simply because it’s more difficult to identify the quality and CBD quantities when purchasing blindly through Amazon.

A small, well-reputed online retailer is more likely to offer quality CBD; plus, you’re better able to research the quality through a smaller retailer with third-party lab reports.

2. Always Read Third-Party Lab Results

No matter where you purchase CBD online, read the third-party lab reports to verify the quality of the CBD you’re purchasing.

In order to manage the quality of CBD products in the industry, reputable CBD companies send each batch of products they purchase to a third-party laboratory. There, the products will be tested for several criteria, including the potency of the CBD, the amount of CBD in each product, and any potential contaminants in the products.

Not all CBD companies have their products tested, which is a very bad sign. They might be trying to cut corners, or they know their products won’t be up to scratch, so they don’t bother with the tests.

If you’re looking at CBD products that do not have published lab reports, ask for them. If the company ignores your request or refuses to share with you, look elsewhere for the products.

3. Know Where the Industrial Hemp Was Grown

The best CBD products will be derived from USDA monitored industrial hemp. The hemp must be carefully cultivated in the right temperatures. It must also be fully organic, lacking all pesticides and other chemicals that can harm the integrity of the plant and potentially harm the consumer.

Look for information about where the industrial hemp was sourced on the company website. Additionally, read third-party lab reports that will provide information about the purity of the CBD products and verify whether or not the hemp is truly sustainable and organic.

4. Don’t Base Your Decision on Price Alone

Price is important when it comes to choosing the right CBD product, but it’s not the only consideration. CBD is not like breakfast cereal—you can’t simply purchase the off brand because it’s the same product at a cheaper price point.

To get good CBD products online, be prepared to pay a fair price for them. On average, a high-quality CBD oil will cost between $0.09 and $0.17 per mg. Some brands might charge slightly more because of their recognized brand, but most of the time, you’re paying for what you get—the higher the quality, the higher the price.

If you’re looking at CBD products that are priced well below or well above the average, you’re likely looking at a bad product. Additionally, only pay a fair price for the CBD products that check out in the third-party lab testing.

5. Identify the THC Content

To avoid any legal repercussions, it’s vital that you identify the THC content in the CBD before consuming it. CBD is only sold legally online in all 50 states if it contains less than 0.3 percent THC.

Most online CBD companies do not try to sneak more than the legal limit of THC into their CBD products, but it can happen. Read third-party lab reports carefully to ensure that the THC content is legal and safe.

If you want to avoid THC content altogether, you could purchase broad-spectrum or isolate CBD, which do not contain any THC. Full-spectrum CBD can contain 0.3 percent or less THC, but it should be within the legal limit. Even when purchasing CBD varieties that are not supposed to contain THC, check the THC content to ensure it follows legal limits.

6. Read Reviews

A lot rides on the company’s reputation. Read all reviews before determining the reputability of the company from which you might purchase your CBD. Pay specific attention to what consumers say about the quality of the CBD they received.

You’ll also want to pay attention to comments about things like customer service, the quality of the packaging, whether or not the reviewers received the right products, etc. Sometimes, the customer service says more about the company than the products.

7. Choose the Right Delivery Method

There are many different types of CBD products that are designed to help the consumers get the help they need in the most convenient manner. When choosing your delivery method, you’ll want to think about the convenience of taking it, the speed of potency, and the length of help.

The fastest-acting method of taking CBD is through inhalation. Vape juices can be consumed quickly, and when breathed in, it quickly enters the bloodstream. However, it does not last long. Usually, the effect is gone within a few hours.

Sublingual oil tinctures are the typical preferred method for taking CBD because it acts quickly and stays in the bloodstream for a long time. To consume, you’ll hold the oil under your tongue for 60-90 seconds, then swallow it. It will seep into your mucous membranes and enter your bloodstream that way as well as in your stomach. You’ll typically feel the effects within minutes, and it will last for up to 5 days, depending on how often you take it.

The most convenient methods of taking CBD include capsules and gummies, which can be eaten wherever you are. The effect is usually evident within about half an hour of taking it, but it’s not quite as potent as vaping or sublingually taking CBD. However, it will last for up to 36 hours.

You can take CBD in many different ways. Choose the one that works for your lifestyle and that best treats your ailment.
