(Newswire.net — August 26, 2020) Orlando, FL — Today, more and more people are struggling from anxiety. It is worth realizing that this mental health issue is being widely investigated, and has been found to be alleviated by certain natural remedies.

According to a new study, bacteria in the gut may play a significant role in one’s mental well-being. This study looked into the link between some groups of bacteria and the increased risk of mental health issues like depression.

In this review of the scientific literature, it has been found that regulation of the intestinal microbiota may aid in relieving anxiety symptoms.

The scientists from the Shanghai Mental Health Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in China assessed evidence of 21 studies. It is worth mentioning that it involved 1,503 participants.

This study was published in the General Psychiatry journal.

The findings of this research emphasize that scientists should dig into the possible role of the intestinal flora deeper when it comes to finding solutions for mental health.

Of the 21 studies, 14 used probiotics to aid in regulating the intestinal flora. It has been found that 11 out of the 21 studies suggest the probiotic intervention aided in regulating the intestinal flora, which helped decrease symptoms of anxiety.

Today, more and more Americans suffer from anxiety. Experts have long been recommending scientifically tailored nutritional plans to ward off this ailment.

It is important to realize that probiotics have been a popular subject of research due to their remarkable healing benefits. More particularly, they are found beneficial for gut health. To increase their levels, it is wise to consider intake of sourdough, yogurts, and sauerkraut.

Scientists suggest that the use of probiotics may be beneficial against depression, anxiety, and some other mental health issues.

More particularly, probiotics aid in increasing the levels of tryptophan, which helps in the production of the happy hormone called serotonin. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it could also reduce inflammation, which is linked with depression.

Some probiotics have further been found to decrease the levels of certain stress hormones.

While more research studies are still underway to learn more about the therapeutic benefits of probiotics, their use is undeniably widespread.
