(Newswire.net — August 27, 2020) Orlando, FL — Acne is quite common today, and this is why more and more experts are carrying out studies to learn more about this skin health issue.

A study was published in the Journal of Lipid Research. In this study, the investigators found a clue when it comes to the correlation of sebum composition and acne severity. It is worth mentioning that sebum, which is an oily skin secretion, plays a vital role in the appearance of zits.

According to Emanuela Camera at the San Gallicano Dermatologic Institute in Italy, but the knowledge of what exactly in sebum is responsible for the occurrence of acne is rather limited.

It is worth mentioning statistics show over 90 percent of the global population is affected by acne at some point in their life. It is important to realize that while it isn’t  life-threatening, it could have severe effects on one’s emotional and psychological well-being.

In 2016, acne has been found to affect about 681.2 million. That was an increase by 10 percent from the 612 million prevalence in 2006. Further, this skin condition ranked 8th in the most prevalent diseases in the world. The cost of acne over-the-counter treatments in the United States reaches $3 million.

In the above-mentioned study, the investigators describe lipids in sebum to be highly complex and unique. They are so diverse that some of them aren’t even found in other oily substances in the body, or even in some other species.

Due to the complexity of the sebum lipids, researchers are finding it hard to analyze them and how they contribute to skin conditions like acne.

It is worth noting that today, scientists still continue to carry out more studies to investigate the potentially helpful remedies for this skin condition. One of these remedies involves the use of a natural ingredient called activated charcoal.

Through its highly adsorbent surface, activated charcoal has been found to be useful against acne. It has been found to aid in cases of cystic acne due to its ability to suck all kinds of gunk like pollution, pus, stale sebum, impurities, and dead cells that cause cystic acne.

What makes it even more beneficial is that it also has an ability to exfoliate the skin without being harsh. It has even been found to clear up blemishes from past pimples and lighten darkened dead skin.

Aside from its acne-fighting effects, activated charcoal has also been found to deliver a myriad of health benefits. This is why today, it is widely used via supplementation through Purest Vantage Activated Charcoal (http://amazon.com/Pure-Organic-Activated-Charcoal-Capsules/dp/B01M0322EC).
