I know I can’t speak for everyone, but it seems like most people that I’ve talked to have heard a couple stories of medical malpractice. Whether it was done intentionally, unintentionally, or the doctor was just ignorant to the fact of what was going on, it’s quite often that people suffer from medical malpractice and their lives are never the same. Now, this being said, most doctors are incredibly good at what they do and should be trusted; however sometimes that’s not the case and restitution should follow their malpractice. The best way to go about this is to hire a lawyer who focuses on these types of cases and let him do what he does best. They’re incredibly intelligent individuals and know their way around these types of scenarios. It doesn’t always have to be something big either. For this article, I will list a couple different real-life stories that happened to individuals in which they decided to sue, and then needed the help of a medical malpractice lawyer.

1.      Keren Kipoliongo went to the hospital as most women do in order to give birth to her twins. It was a C-section and the doctor wasn’t completely trained on the operation. One of the babies was delivered but the second passed away before it could be taken out of the womb. Keren seeked restitution after the procedure and was provided with it.

2.      Sharon Burke was seeking a specific procedure to be conducted on her brain and went to see two different specialists, a neurologist and radiologist. Although both were experts in their field, there was a miscommunication between the two and Sharon and the anatomy of the brain was confused in discussion. Because of this a preventable injury was issued to Keren and lawsuits followed.

3.      Mike Wood was rushed into a surgery that he didn’t require and because of it lost his right hand. The doctor was more concerned with receiving the income from the operation than he was with the safety and well being of Mike himself. Although the operation was non-essential for Mike, the doctor pressured him into it and didn’t reveal that he wasn’t properly trained for that procedure anyways. Mike lost his hand and his life was forever changed because of an uneducated practitioner.

4.      This one isn’t specific, but every day people are misdiagnosed and given either the wrong medication or issued the wrong treatment. Although it might seem harmless enough, medications can be dangerous and can have lasting effects on the individual if not taken properly. If this has happened to you, you could be entitled to restitution.

As I’ve mentioned previously, it’s not uncommon that medical practitioners make mistakes and mess up. Because of this it’s important to invest in a medical malpractice lawyer. They will ensure that everything is taken care of and that you receive the restitutions that you’re entitled to. Whether it’s based on a massive blunder like some of the stories listed above, or a prescription mix up that we see everyday, they’re worth the investment.
