Green City

Forest City always adheres to sustainable development and spares no effort in environmental protection and green ecological construction.

Since 2014, Forest City Malaysia has cooperated with professional environmental consultant AES, hydrological consultant DHI, University Putra Malaysia, and other research institutions to monitor and improve the marine ecosystem around the Forest City. Besides, the landscape team of Forest City has developed a mangrove conservation plan.

As an important supporting facility of the city, the first stage exhibition hall of Eco-Museum has been completed and opened on 21 September 2020. The Eco-Museum will become a knowledge exchange platform for residents, local communities, and other environmental volunteers.

Forest City is also the advocator of “sponge city”. So far, four sewage treatment plants have been built, with a total treatment capacity of about 170400 person-times. After an advanced ecological sewage treatment system and wetland treatment, the effluent quality reaches the class IIB standard, which is higher than the general discharge standard of Malaysia. And the wastewater will be used for roof garden irrigation, vertical greening, outdoor landscape, and public toilet flushing for recycling to improve environmental and economic benefits. This project makes the Forest City win the title of the 2020 Asian Townscape Award.

Moreover, Forest City has taken the lead in carrying out a number of environmental movements that have become a landmark project of Forest City, connecting residents, local communities, NGOs, and surrounding school buildings to implement green initiatives.

The truth is that the action of Forest City Malaysia has received the support of various volunteers and attracted them to participate in the green cause and form a green culture.
