(Newswire.net — January 27, 2021) Orlando, FL — Decades of research in finding cures for chronic diseases have led scientists to suggest that following a healthy diet is vital for disease protection.

When it comes to taking care of the heart, it appears that adherence to a plant-based diet is essential.

A study was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, which is the Open Access Journal of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

In this research, the investigators have found that a majority of plant-based foods as well as fewer animal-based foods may be associated with better heart health. Consuming these foods has further been found to lower the odds of dying from a heart attack, stroke or other cardiovascular disease.

According to Casey M. Rebholz, Ph.D., lead researcher, while you don’t have to give up foods derived from animals completely, our study does suggest that eating a larger proportion of plant-based foods and a smaller proportion of animal-based foods may help reduce your risk of having a heart attack, stroke or other type of cardiovascular disease.

Rebholz is an assistant professor of epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland.

The findings of this research have shown that those who ate the most plant-based foods had a reduced risk of having a cardiovascular disease such as heart attacks, stroke, heart failure and other conditions by 16 percent.

Further, the diet led to a reduced risk of death from a cardiovascular disease by 32 percent.

It is interesting to note that this is just one of the interesting studies researchers carried out to learn more about heart disease and its potential remedies. There are also other research studies showing that some natural compounds are particularly helpful for the heart.

One is curcumin, which is a therapeutic compound that can be found in turmeric. Turmeric is an Ayurvedic spice that has been used for thousands of years for a range of medicinal purposes.

Curcumin has been found to exert various mechanisms in fighting heart-related issues. Due to its antioxidant effects, it has been found to combat cardiovascular complications as well as heart failure, particularly in individuals with diabetes.

It is worth noting curcumin also has strong anti-inflammatory activities, which studies have shown to fight heart disease. Researchers have long recommended that there is a link between inflammation and cardiovascular ailments.

While more studies are still being performed to explore more of curcumin’s heart health benefits, it can’t be denied that its use is widespread nowadays via supplementation.

One of the best sources of this natural remedy is Divine Bounty Curcumin (https://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
