(Newswire.net — March 1, 2021) Orlando, FL — Antibiotics are popularly known for both their efficiency in fighting urinary tract infections and the side effects they cause. More and more research studies reveal that misuse or overuse of this type of medication may lead in health issues.

One study was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

In this research, it has been found that there is a link in between two types of heart health issues and one of the most commonly prescribed classes of antibiotics.

The study was carried out by the researchers at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in partnership with the Provincial Health Services Authority’s (PHSA) Therapeutic Evaluation Unit.

More specifically, antibiotic use increased the odds of getting aortic and mitral regurgitation by 2.4 times. The risk has further been found to be greater within 30 days of use.

Researchers hope that the findings of their research would serve as a warning against the inappropriate use of antibiotics, especially among those with cardiac issues.

Dr. Bruce Carleton says one of the key objectives of the Therapeutic Evaluation Unit is to evaluate different drugs and health technologies to determine whether they enhance the quality of care delivered by our programs or improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Carleton is director of the unit and research investigator at BC Children’s Hospital, a program of PHSA.

As research investigating on the side effects of antibiotics increase, experts also strongly recommend resorting to some steps to reduce the need in using this type of medication. It is worth noting that UTI being a major cause for the demand of antibiotics, it is wise to ward this infection off.

There are many proven ways to combat this infection or inhibit its development. One is to consume cranberry juice, which has a harmless type of sugar called D-mannose.

Various studies carried out in the past have shown that D-mannose may be helpful in fighting the infection. This means it can contribute to lessening the need for antibiotics.

According to researchers, D-mannose works naturally in battling infection. It could bind with the UTI-culprit, such as the E.coli bacteria found to be responsible for about 90 percent of all UTI cases.

This healing ingredient may also produce other therapeutic benefits. This is why today, there are many experts who recommend its use via supplementation. It is wise to choose the right supplement to take advantage of the healing goodness of this remedy.

One formula to consider is Divine Bounty D-mannose (http://amazon.com/D-Mannose-600mg-Cranberry-Dandelion-Extract/dp/B01LX5KGF0).
