(Newswire.net — June 18, 2021) — While the world starts to return to normal, you may have spent some time thinking about your own glorious return to the office. After working from home for a year, most people are ready to return to their normal, and even more, are excited to redecorate. Whether you are returning to the office or looking for guidance on how best to make your new office match your personality, we have you covered. Here are our favorite pieces for your office. They are the perfect addition or change to your work environment, and they fit in every office.

The Perfect Desk

The perfect desk sounds like it would be a simple thing to find. It’s just picking one which you like, and that gives you enough room for your keyboard, right? Wrong. Your desk is the first thing that is seen when people enter your office, so it must say something about you. That doesn’t mean it needs to be an onyx wood finish to be serious, but the optics do need to be thought about. We think that the best kinds of desks are ones which save space while looking elegant and well thought out for your needs.

The Perfect Lighting

Everyone has a preference for lighting during their work time. Usually, it involves a lot of natural light and windows. But that approach doesn’t work for everyone. No doubt, you’ve experimented with lighting while you’ve worked from home. Certain people like the bright, direct light, others like dim or filtered sunlight, and yet others like dark spaces with little light. But there’s one thing that everyone agrees with, and that is the hate of synthetic lights. When you return to the office this time around, consider changing up your lighting and using what works best for you in your situation—but remember, although you work better in hot pink neon lights, your coworkers may find it odd. Try to find a good middle ground if you don’t have an office lighting system all to yourself.

The Perfect Office Necessities: Coffee and Printers

In the past year, more adults have drunk more coffee than ever before. More of us are addicted to caffeine on a serious level and that is why having a coffee machine in your office is a perfect necessity. If you wanted to go big, you could splurge on a mini-fridge, but we find that a single serving coffee machine and some creamer and sugar tend to do the job brilliantly. You can even get a side desk or table to put it on, making it always within arm’s reach. Or, if you aren’t a coffee drinker, consider having a water cooler brought to your office—the number one reason people leave their office is to go find water, so now, just have it accessible (and personal).

Further, if you’ve ever needed to print out papers for your employees or coworkers, or boss, you’ll know how much of a pain that whole thing can be. This time around, invest in a personal printer. Avoiding high use areas in your office is a benefit of this necessity, additionally, you have it all to yourself which means that you don’t need to wait on IT to get around to changing inks.

The Perfect Office Accessories: Furniture and Plants

Okay, so maybe office furniture doesn’t immediately scream accessory, but it is! Having the right furniture can do wonders for your office environment. In fact, studies have shown that there are direct connections between furniture choice and the mental health of office employees. This doesn’t mean you need to fill your little office with furniture, but you should keep in mind how you feel about the furniture that you add. If you add something that is meant for relaxing, will that help or hinder your progress during the workday? Additionally, if you don’t like the furniture in the office, why would you want to stay there and do work in it?

Finally, plants are the best sort of office accessory. And we don’t mean those big plastic ones that you can find in casinos. We mean real, living plants. They add a serene nature to your office. They help improve airflow, lighting, and bring down the temperature inside cramped offices. You can go about this in multiple ways, from buying trees and putting them into pots, or getting small cacti in a mini garden for the desk. They are the ultimate in showing off your personality, just remember to not let anyone water them outside of yourself. Too many office plants have died because of our ‘helpful’ coworkers.
