(Newswire.net — November 1, 2021) Winnetka, IL — Obesity has become one of the major causes of high mortality rates in many areas around the globe. In various research studies, it has been found that carrying excess weight increases the odds of certain diseases.

A study was carried out and published in PLOS Medicine.

The study findings have shown that more years of being obese equates to increased disease risk.

This interesting study was carried out by Tom Norris of Loughborough University, UK, and colleagues.

It is worth noting that individuals with obesity do not actually share similar risk for the risk factors of cardiometabolic disease development. It has been hypothesized that the duration of being obese affect such a variation.

In this new research, the three British birth cohort studies were used. These studies collected information on BMI from age 10 to 40 as well as the risk factors for cardiometabolic disease. These include cholesterol, blood pressure, and glycated hemoglobin.

It is worth noting that in this study, scientists found a link between more years of obesity and worse values for all measured cardiometabolic risk factors. According to experts, the link was particularly strong for HbA1c.

Scientists continue to carry out studies to look into the dangerous impacts of obesity on health. It is always important to keep in mind that in these troubling times of global health crisis, it is vital to increase one’s protection against Covid-19.

There have been studies revealing that high mortality rates by Covid-19 are associated with chronic ailments like obesity. Further, carrying excess weight has also been found to have negative impacts on the body’s defenses.

Aside from managing a healthy weight, there are other ways to boost the body’s defenses. Some all-natural remedies like the use of a medicinal herb called ashwagandha may be helpful. It is important to realize medicinal herbs have long been used for a range of medicinal purposes.

Ashwagandha has adaptogenic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, antimicrobial, hypocholesterolemic, cardioprotective, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-angiogenic agents, as well as tannins, potassium, nitrate, fatty acids, and glucose.

It is worth realizing that this herb’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties are found to be useful for immune system health.

Antioxidants work in fighting free radicals, which could otherwise lead to oxidative damage. It is important to keep in mind oxidative stress that triggers inflammation.

In studies carried out in the past, it has been found chronic inflammation wreaks havoc on immune system health. This is due to its ability to cause it to go into overdrive.

Intake of ashwagandha may be helpful in warding off diseases and boosting the immune system. There are formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha that may be useful in delivering its healing goodness (amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
