(Newswire.net — December 6, 2021) Orlando, FL — Doctors have long been stressing the relevance of using medications for hypertension. It is worth noting that aside from treating high blood pressure, certain pharmaceutical drugs have been found to produce other healing benefits.

Preliminary research was presented at the American Heart Association’s Hypertension 2019 Scientific Sessions.

This research was carried out by researchers from Columbia University.

The investigators analyzed data gathered on almost 11,000 adults from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) between 2011-2015. This is to evaluate how hypertension and its treatment impact cognitive decline.

According to the study findings, treatment of high blood pressure may slow down the cognitive decline that hypertension seems to accelerate among middle-aged and older individuals.

The findings are significant considering that hypertension, as well as cognitive decline, are two of the most common conditions linked with aging.

More specifically, overall cognition scores declined over the four-year study. It is further worth mentioning that subjects ages 55 and older with high blood pressure exhibited a more rapid rate of cognitive decline than those being treated for high blood pressure and individuals who did not have high blood pressure.

In the United States, the American Heart Association’s 2017 Hypertension Guidelines reveal that roughly 80 million adults had high blood pressure. On a global scale, this condition affects about one billion people.

There has been a growing interest in the link between brain health and hypertension, and this encourages researchers to look into the ways that increased blood pressure impacts the blood vessels of the brain.

It is worth mentioning that this may in turn affect language, memory, and thinking skills.

Researchers continue to investigate the various aspects of hypertension and help sufferers manage their condition better. In some studies, scientists found certain plant-based remedies may aid in fighting the condition.

Berberine is one of the extensively studied remedies for hypertension. In research studies, it has been found to have anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antifungal, anti-tubercular, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal, anti-cancer, arthritis-fighting, heart-health-promoting, antidiarrheal, and antitrachoma agents.

Various studies have demonstrated that this natural remedy has the ability to decrease blood pressure levels. This is due to its ability to competitively inhibit VSMC α1 receptors. This has been found to aid in blocking the release of the enzyme adenylyl cyclase.

Scientists say it has been able to enhance cardiac contractility and inhibit myocardial fibrosis. It has even decreased cardiac atrophy in a rat hypertension model.

In addition to its hypertension-fighting benefits, this natural remedy may also aid in delivering a range of health benefits. Today, it is widely reported by health-conscious individuals who aim at increasing their protection against diseases.

One of the best ways to obtain its therapeutic goodness is to use Divine Bounty Berberine, which is a highly potent and pure supplement (amazon.com/Berberine-Supplement-600mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B06XPCSTYM).
