Study Highlights Mediterranean Diet’s Heart Health Impacts

(Newswire.net — December 20, 2021) Orlando, FL — Making healthy dietary choices is one of the most effective ways to protect and enhance heart health. Eating patterns like the Mediterranean diet are particularly found beneficial in battling cardiovascular diseases.

A study has shown that having a Mediterranean diet with lean beef may reduce risk factors for heart disease. This randomized controlled study has particularly shown a combination of small portions of lean beef aided in lessening the risk factors for developing heart disease, such as LDL cholesterol.

“The study suggests that healthy diets can include a wide variety of foods, such as red meat, and still be heart-friendly,” said Jennifer Fleming, assistant teaching professor of nutrition at Penn State.

“When you create a healthy diet built on fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based foods, it leaves room for moderate amounts of other foods like lean beef,” Fleming added.

It is worth keeping in mind that there are essential nutrients found in beef, especially when choosing lean cuts like the loin or round, or 93 percent lean ground beef.

“This study highlights the importance of including lean beef in a Mediterranean dietary pattern that can yield heart-healthy benefits,” said David J. Baer.

Baer is a research leader at the United States Department of Agriculture — Agricultural Research Service, and a study co-principal investigator.

Previous studies have shown that red meat like beef has been linked with the heightened odds for cardiovascular disease. However, it has stayed unclear whether red meat produces these effects or if other lifestyle and dietary facts cause it.

It is also worth keeping in mind that processed red meats have a totally different nutrient profile than fresh meat. For instance, it contains extremely high amounts of sodium.

“The Mediterranean diet is traditionally low in red meat,” Fleming said.

“But, knowing that many Americans enjoy red meat, we wanted to examine how combining lean beef with the Mediterranean diet would affect cardiovascular risk markers.”

An increasing number of studies are looking into the therapeutic impacts of nutrients found in healthy foods, and these include B vitamins.

Over the years, B vitamins have been studied due to their strong medicinal values. They have been found to produce protective benefits to cardiovascular health.

Today, these nutrients are widely resorted to through the use of formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6. This highly potent formula is carefully crafted according to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines (www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
