(Newswire.net — January 14, 2022) Orlando, FL — Multiple research studies suggest that chronic stress could wreak havoc on health. It is worth realizing that it is linked with the onset of certain diseases.

A new study from Australia has found that anxiety, depression, or other forms of mental distress may significantly increase the risk of heart disease among older adults.

This four-year study monitored psychological distress among 222,000 subjects who were 45 years and older. It is worth mentioning that the participants had no history of heart disease.

Study lead author Caroline Jackson, says that the study adds to the growing evidence of a link between depression and anxiety and increased risk of heart attack and stroke, and suggests that this link may not be explained solely by factors such as lifestyle and presence of other diseases.

The investigators found that there was an increase in the risk of heart attack by 18 percent among women and 30 percent among men with a high or very high degree of mental distress.

They also stress that the odds of stroke rose by 44 percent among highly distressed females and 24 percent among highly distressed men.

The study findings were published in the September issue of the journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.

When it comes to battling stress in a natural way, it is best to consider the use of remedies scientists have found to have stress-busting benefits.

One is resveratrol, which has long been reputed to offer a range of healing benefits. It is worth realizing that this powerful antioxidant also contains inflammation-fighting properties, which could aid in fighting diseases.

In some studies, resveratrol has been found to produce cardio-neuro-protective, anti-diabetic, and anti-cancer effects.

In 2012, researchers have found that resveratrol has the ability to directly bind with and block the activity of the enzyme called phosphodiesterase (PDE). This is thought to be helpful in mediating key stress response proteins, which can result in the prevention of age-associated metabolic diseases.

TSRI researchers also found that resveratrol could directly bind with an enzyme called tRNA synthetase, which is normally involved in making proteins. Due to this activity, resveratrol could redirect the enzymes inactivating stress protein pathways.

Its abilities on activated stress responses aid in protecting cells as well as tissues.

Aside from its stress-busting effects, it is worth realizing that resveratrol has long been reputed to work wonders in delivering various healing benefits. This is why today, it is widely resorted to via supplementation.
