Mounting Evidence Suggests Push-Ups a Predictor of Heart Disease Risk

(Newswire.net — January 24, 2022) Orlando, FL — The link between exercise or the lack of it and cardiovascular health has long been a subject of research. In a study, it appears that it isn’t just about engaging in physical activities, but also the level of exercise that influences heart disease risk.

This study was published in the JAMA Network Open, which is a monthly open-access medical journal published by the American Medical Association.

Carried out by the Harvard researchers, this study involved data from 1,104 healthy firefighters, average age 40, who did not have cardiovascular disease. It is worth noting that every male subject was made to perform as many push-ups as possible in one minute.

Further, they also had treadmill tests as a measurement of their cardiovascular health and aerobic fitness.

After 10 years, it has been found that those who had originally performed the most push-ups were less susceptible to getting heart disease.

More specifically, the study findings reveal that individuals who could do 40 or more push-ups had a reduced risk by 96 percent than those who could only do 10 or fewer push-ups.

The researchers further note that subjects who were able to do a minimum of 11 push-ups had a lower risk too. However, the more they could do, the greater the benefit.

Exercise is undeniably vital for heart health maintenance and protection. However, it is also worth noting that there are other factors found to be significantly essential for cardiovascular health.

Aside from following a healthy diet, mounting evidence suggests that certain natural remedies like milk thistle may help. It is worth mentioning that this natural remedy has long been used in battling various ailments.

These include hepatitis, cirrhosis, gallbladder issues, and diabetes. It has also been particularly found helpful for heart health due to its benefits on cholesterol and blood pressure levels.

The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse reveals that high blood sugar is a contributor to high blood pressure.

Milk thistle, on the other hand, has been found to aid in reducing blood sugar levels. This is thought to be how it works wonders in balancing high blood pressure, which in turn is beneficial for heart health.

Some scientists further suggest that this natural healing remedy also eliminates excessive cholesterol within the arteries, and this is another reason why it is beneficial for blood pressure levels.

More studies are still being carried out to learn about the heart health benefits of this natural remedy. However, it remains true that its use is widespread via supplementation like the use of Divine Bounty Milk Thistle (http://www.amazon.com/Milk-Thistle-Supplement-Standardized-Extract/dp/B01LWI4A51).
