New Research Suggests Intelligence Is Linked With Health and Aging

(Newswire.net — February 28, 2022) Orlando, FL — Today, more and more researchers are investigating health and aging. This is partly due to the fact that there is an increasing number of people who are entering the elderly population.

A scientist from the University of Missouri carried out a study.

In this research, they found a model where mitochondria can serve as a basis on the link between a person’s general intelligence and health and aging.

It is important to realize that the findings of this research could be helpful in battling age-related diseases, such as Alzheimer’s.

According to David Geary, there are a lot of hypotheses on what this link is, but no model to link them all together.

Geary is Curators Distinguished Professor of Psychological Sciences in the MU College of Arts and Science.

“Mitochondria produce cellular energy in the human body, and energy availability is the lowest common denominator needed for the functioning of all biological systems. My model shows mitochondrial function might help explain the link between general intelligence, health, and aging,” he adds.

The investigator further suggests that increased intake of fruits and vegetables may promote healthy mitochondria. It is important to realize that there are factors that are found damaging to the mitochondria, such as chronic stress.

When the mitochondria are damaged, it could affect the whole body – particularly the heart and brain.

Experts have long been recommending some science-based tricks to help fight the aging process. It is important to reiterate that having a healthy diet, particularly one loaded with fruits and vegetables, has been found effective in reducing the signs of aging.

It is further worth noting that certain antioxidants like resveratrol may aid in warding off some age-related diseases. This compound can actually be found in red wine, grapes, and nuts, and is linked with a wide range of health benefits.

Scientists even suggest that it could potentially curtail some health issues that usually develop as one gets older.

It has been found that resveratrol has the ability to mimic calorie restriction and even extend the lifespans of worms, yeast, and flies.

There are other mechanisms resveratrol has been found to exert in delaying the aging process. On top of that, its use is actually associated with disease-fighting benefits.

It is wise to consider the use of this antioxidant for various medicinal purposes. Today, it is widely reported via supplementation, such as the use of Purest Vantage Resveratrol.

Individuals who want to help fight the signs of aging may turn to the use of this disease-fighting formula (www.amazon.com/Resveratrol-Supplement-Trans-Resveratrol-Additional-Polyphenol/dp/B01N3LZY3O).
