New Research Highlights the Role of Endogenous Proteins in Joint Inflammation

(Newswire.net — May 2, 2022) Orlando, FL — Joint health issues like rheumatoid arthritis are quite common today. These are incurable and highly prevalent conditions that reduce the quality of life and health of sufferers.

The scientific community has been looking into the factors that contribute to joint inflammation, which causes pain, and other studies.

A study was carried out and published in the scientific journal called PNAS reports.

Carried out by the researchers from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, it has been found that some endogenous proteins work in inhibiting the immune system from mistakenly attacking the body and causing joint inflammation.

According to experts, these proteins have a vital role to play in the development of allergies and parasitic infections.

Immune system health is needed in the protection against infections. There are cases when autoimmune diseases occur and they occur when the immune cells erroneously attack the body. Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of autoimmune disease it results in pain and inflammation.

The researchers studied the proteins called IL-4 and IL-13, which play an essential part in preventing autoimmune attacks. Immune cells secret these proteins when in the presence of allergens or parasitic infections.

Further, these proteins have the ability to influence the behavior of a specific type of immune cell called a neutrophil.  When RA suffers have actively inflamed joints, there are high levels of neutrophils in immune cells.

They also tend to be highly virulent against tissue as they are able to secrete a variety of fairly non-specific tissue irritants.

“We will continue to study these mechanisms and hope that our work can contribute to the development of treatments for rheumatoid arthritis,” says principal investigator Fredrik Wermeling.

Wemeling is assistant professor at the Department of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet (Solna).

Scientists are increasingly studying the impacts of certain measures potentially helpful against rheumatoid arthritis. It is worth keeping in mind that while this condition remains incurable, there are actually many ways to manage it.

Time and again research studies have shown that certain nutrients have arthritis-fighting benefits. Some B vitamins have been found in studies to be particularly beneficial against inflammation and pain.

Today, there are formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex considered to be an excellent source of these nutrients.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6. It is widely reported to by individuals who are trying to maintain healthy levels of B vitamins (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
