(Newswire.net — May 27, 2022) Las Vegas, NV — Doctors have long been warning against postpartum depression, which can lead to various undesirable consequences. In a recent study, it has been found that it could also be detrimental to the heart.

A study was presented on Nov. 11 at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions meeting in Chicago.

In this research, the investigators suggest that otherwise healthy women diagnosed with postpartum depression may be at a heightened risk of a heart attack, stroke, or heart failure.

The investigators looked into a registry of 1.8 million California women without a history of cardiovascular disease or chronic depression. It has been found that of those women, 40,276 were diagnosed with postpartum depression.

It is worth noting that they had an almost 70 percent increased risk of cardiovascular disease within approximately five years of giving birth.

According to Dr. Punag Divanji, what’s causing these women to be more at risk is uncertain.

Dr. Punag Divanji is the study’s lead researcher and a cardiologist at the University of California, San Francisco.

The researchers speculate that it could be due to the link in the drop in estrogen and progesterone after childbirth. It is worth realizing that these are two hormones that increase exponentially during pregnancy.

Further, they say that women with postpartum depression may have a greater drop in levels after childbirth than other new mothers.

More studies are still being carried out to explore more the ways to help fight postpartum depression.

It is worth realizing that some natural ingredients like turmeric have been found to exert varying mechanisms in fighting depression. One of the ways it fights these brain health issues is its ability to promote antioxidant defenses.

A study has shown that individuals who consume adequate antioxidants were less likely to suffer from depression. The curcumin turmeric contains has been found to not just enhance antioxidant defenses, but also reduce oxidative stress in cases of depression.

What popularizes curcumin, even more, is its anti-inflammatory effects. It is worth realizing that inflammation has long been considered to be a causative factor for depression.

This natural healing remedy has even been found to work in helping regulate the vital protein levels in the brain. More particularly, it increases the protein called BDNF or brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which is essential for the survival and function of brain cells. The BDNF is also linked with depression.

To experience the therapeutic goodness of this depression-fighting ingredient, it is wise to consider the use of Incredipure Curcumin (www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Supplement-BioPerine-Capsule/dp/B0166KAW8M).
