Inadequate Sleep May Increase Your Risk of Premature Death, Experts Strongly Warn

During the nine long years of the research, the scientists found that the participants were more susceptible to death from any cause compared to those with diabetes or sleep disturbances by 87 percent. 

It is further worth noting that those with sleep issues and diabetes were more at risk of dying by 12 percent in that span of nine years. 

“Although we already knew that there is a strong link between poor sleep and poor health, this illustrates the problem starkly,” the professor said.

The findings have also revealed that diabetes alone was associated with a 67 percent increased risk of mortality. However, such a risk increased for individuals with diabetes combined with frequent sleep problems by 87 percent.
