(Newswire.net — July 7, 2022) — The 2022 NFL Draft is in the books, and training camp begins at the end of July. We know what to expect from the league’s superstars and veterans, but what should we expect from the incoming rookies?
Many fans like to assume rookies drafted in the first round are sure-fire studs, but we have seen many busts coming from the first round and vice versa; we have seen players drafted in the late rounds have incredibly successful careers. For instance, a guy named Tom Brady was drafted 199th overall.
Below is a rundown of 10 Rookies that I expect to impact their new team immediately.

Jalen Tolbet, Cowboys
Jalen Tolbert has a clear path to being a fantasy-relevant WR right away. As Michael Gallup recovers from his ACL injury, he immediately steps in as the Cowboys’ #2 WR behind CeeDee Lamb. Dallas is losing 165 targets from a year ago after letting Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson leave via trade and free agency. Tolbert is the perfect guy to haul in 80-90 receptions during his rookie year.

Skyy Moore, Chiefs
Skyy Moore fell into a perfect landing spot with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2022, the Chiefs needed to add some depth to the WR position after trading Tyreke Hill to the Dolphins. Adding Juju Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and drafting Moore to make this a top-5 offense.
It will be tough to replace a guy like Hill, but with Moore’s speed, agility, and physical ability, he should be able to contribute to this offense immediately.

Chris Olave, Saints
Chris Olave was considered the best route-running WR in this year’s draft. The speedster out of The Ohio State University posted a 4.39 40-yard dash and will add much-needed depth to the Saints’ WR room. Last year, New Orleans had the worst passing yards per game in the NFL. Adding Olave, Jarvis Landry, and hopefully Michael Thomas, Jameis Winston should have plenty of weapons in 2022.

Treylon Burks, Titans
Burks is the deep threat that the Titans will need to succeed in 2022. The 6-2 225-pound receiver can beat you with size, speed, and physicality. Burks totaled 1,275 receiving yards with 11 TDs. If the Titans want to win their 3rd consecutive Division Title, they will need that kind of production from their Rookie WR.

Garrett Wilson, Jets
Garrett Wilson could be considered the best WR is coming out of this year’s draft. Garrett will make Jets’ Quarterback Zach Wilson a true #1 weapon. Wilson has outstanding body control with a huge catch radius. The Former Buckeye is most dangerous after the catch, ranking 11th in the nation in missed tackles forced and 73rd in YAC per reception.

Jameson Williams, Lions
Jameson Willaims was ranked the #1 WR in the 2021 NFL draft by PFF. In 2021, Williams put together one of the most remarkable seasons in College Football by a wide receiver. At Alabama, Williams had 1,561 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. Not only is he extremely fast but very shifty, which makes him dangerous after the catch.
Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL in the National Championship game, or he could have been the first receiver taken in the draft.

Drake London, Falcons
Drake London is another one of those guys you could argue is the best WR coming out of the draft. He is 6-4, 220 pounds, exactly what you are looking for in a true #1 wide receiver. Landing in Atlanta, he will step in that role immediately as Calvin Ridley is suspended for the entire 2022 season.
London, commonly compared to Mike Evans in the past, could have won College’s Biletnikoff Award if it weren’t for his season-ending ankle injury. Despite missing a few games, he still accumulated over 1,000 yards receiving while hauling in 7 touchdowns.

Kenny Pickett, Steelers
Pickett, the former Pitt Panther, has the luxury of not only staying in the same city but the same stadium as he starts his NFL Career. Kenny Pickett has been on scouts’ radar for the last couple of seasons, but his improvement from 2020 to 2021 is one of the more impressive things about him. He posted a PPF grade of 69.8 in 2020, then turned around and posted an outstanding 92.3 PPF grade in 2021.
One of Pickett’s best qualities is his accuracy. Not only does he have pinpoint accuracy in the pocket, but it continues when he is on the move. The most significant question mark for Kenny is can he continue that in the NFL.

David Bell, Browns
Another WR has an opportunity to make an immediate impact. Davis Bell was drafted in the 2nd round by the Cleveland Browns. Jarvis Landry’s departure allows Bell to slide right in the #2 spot behind Amari Cooper.
Don’t judge Bell by his size. He can make you miss at 6-1, 212 pounds with his speed and elusiveness, but he can go up and make those contested catches. During the 2021 season at Purdue, he ranked 3rd in the Nation in missed tackles and 32nd in contested catches.

Nakobe Dean, Eagles
Nakobe Dean was PFF’s #2 rated Linebacker heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. It was shocking to see Dean fall out of the 1st round. Dean was Georgia’s best Linebacker and arguably the best all-around defensive player. Per NFL Network, a recent pec injury was one of the primary reasons Dean fell in the draft.
His ability to not only get home easily as a Blitzer but also completely shut down any underneath passing game kept long drives to a minimum. Nakobe Dean is a sleeper to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Whether we think these rookies are future Hall of Famers or not, as a fan, it will be fun to watch how they fit with their new teams.
