Research Warns Against Link In Between PCOS and Higher BPA Levels

(Newswire.net — October 5, 2022) Ste 177 Winnetka, IL, IL — Worldwide, more and more women suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This hormonal health issue is not just manageable, but may also be prevented through dietary and lifestyle modifications.

Research warns against links between PCOS and higher BPA levels. The study has particularly shown that women with the condition may be more vulnerable upon exposure to the industrial chemical called bisphenol A (BPA).

The study was presented at The Endocrine Society’s 92nd Annual Meeting in San Diego.

BPA is a known hormone disrupter and is increased and associated with higher levels of male hormones in the blood of women suffering from PCOS compared with healthy women.

“These findings held true for both lean and obese women with PCOS,” said Evanthia Diamanti-Kandarakis, MD, Ph.D.

She is the study co-author and professor at the University of Athens Medical School in Greece.

“Women with the polycystic ovary syndrome should be alert regarding this environmental contaminant’s potential adverse effects on reproductive aspects of their health problem,” she said.

Experts warn that excessive secretion of androgens — masculinization-promoting hormones — happens in PCOS. The syndrome actually increases the risk of conditions like infertility, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

In past studies, it has actually been shown that BPA is increased in women who have had recurrent miscarriages.

Experts warn that this chemical may leach into the bloodstream from food and beverage containers, which are made of polycarbonate hard plastic or lined with epoxy resins, as well as from some dental sealants and composites.

PCOS is usually treated with the use of certain medications. However today, an increasing number of research studies are highlighting the potential benefits of using adaptogen herbs like ashwagandha.

This therapeutic remedy has long been studied due to its pharmacological agents. It has adaptogenic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, antimicrobial, hypocholesterolemic, cardioprotective, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-angiogenic agents, as well as tannins, potassium, nitrate, fatty acids, and glucose.

Its use has long been linked with a myriad of disease-fighting effects. When it comes to battling PCOS, it has been found to correct hormonal imbalances inside the body. Today, it is widely used through formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha.

This supplement is crafted carefully in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S. It continues to receive more and more positive reviews from satisfied health-conscious customers. In addition to being of superior quality and highly potent, it also comes with a customer satisfaction guarantee.
