Research Reveals Exercise Mechanism That Boosts Bones and Immunity

(Newswire.net — November 14, 2022) Orlando, FL — Over the years, researchers have been highlighting the therapeutic effects of exercise on various aspects of health.

One study was carried out by scientists at the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI).

The researchers were able to identify the specialized environment called a niche in the bone marrow. It is worth noting that it is where the new bone and immune cells are produced.

The findings of this research were published in Nature.

This study reveals that movement-induced stimulation is needed in maintaining this niche, as well as the bone and immune-forming cells containing it. The findings introduce a new way that exercise boosts bones and immune function.

Scientists from the Morrison laboratory revealed that forces created from walking or running are transported from bone surfaces along arteriolar blood vessels into the marrow inside bones. It is worth noting that bone-forming cells lining the outside of the arterioles sense these forces.

Further, they are also induced to proliferate. This not only disallows the formation of new bone cells, which aids in thickening bones but also makes way for the bone-forming cells to secrete a growth factor.

This growth factor increases the frequency of cells that form lymphocytes around the arterioles. Experts say that lymphocytes are the B and T cells that allow the immune system to combat infections.

“As we age, the environment in our bone marrow changes, and the cells responsible for maintaining skeletal bone mass and immune function become depleted. We know very little about how this environment changes or why these cells decrease with age,” says Sean Morrison, Ph.D. Morrison is the director of CRI and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator.

“Past research has shown exercise can improve bone strength and immune function, and our study discovered a new mechanism by which this occurs.”

Today, more and more experts are increasingly studying exercise and its impacts on immune system health. There are actually many other ways to boost immunity, and these include proper nourishment.

In these troubling times of global health crisis, it is important to maintain strong immunity. Regularly engaging in exercise and following a healthy diet is vital. There are also nutrients like B vitamins particularly found to have disease-fighting benefits.

It is also worth noting that B vitamins have bone health benefits. There are formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex found to be particularly useful.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (https://amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
