(Newswire.net — December 19, 2022) Ste 177 Winnetka, IL, IL — The scientific community has been carrying out studies to investigate a quite common mental health issue called depression.

Research now shows an association between fast food and depression. This new research together with the same lines as its predecessors has shown how fast food intake is correlated with a greater risk of depression.

The findings of this study were published in the Public Health Nutrition journal.

This recent study was spearheaded by scientists from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of Granada.

The investigators revealed that consumption of commercial baked goods such as fairy cakes, croissants, doughnuts, etc.) and fast food (hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza) is associated with depression.

The findings have shown that consumers of fast food are 51 percent more susceptible to depression compared to those who eat little or none. The investigators have also revealed there was a dose-response relationship.

“The more fast food you consume, the greater the risk of depression,” explains Almudena Sánchez-Villegas, lead author of the study.

The research shows that subjects who consume fast food and commercial baked goods the most are actually more likely to be single, with poor dietary habits, and less active. Poor dietary habits mean reduced intake of fruit, nuts, fish, vegetables, and olive oil.

The researchers also revealed that smoking and working over 45 hours a week are the other prevalent characteristics of this group. There was a conclusive result when it comes to the intake of commercial baked goods.

“Even eating small quantities is linked to a significantly higher chance of developing depression,” as the university researcher from the Canary Islands points out.

Statistics have time and again warned that depression impacts 121 million individuals around the globe.

Health experts have long been recommending some healthy measures to strengthen brain health and ward off depression. It is worth remembering that certain plant-based remedies like ashwagandha are being widely studied by researchers today due to their anti-depressant benefits.

Studies have showcased that intake of ashwagandha in just a matter of days led to mental health advantages. It actually has adaptogenic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, antimicrobial, hypocholesterolemic, cardioprotective, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-angiogenic agents, as well as tannins, potassium, nitrate, fatty acids, and glucose.

This remedy is now popularly obtained through the use of superior-strength formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha. This formula is made carefully in an FDA-inspected facility in the U.S. and continues to be a popular choice in the global market. (http://www.amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO)
