Penelope and the Beauty Bar has made the switch to Dazzle Dry nails as the issues with the long popular gel nails have become clearer. As a recent report published by the American Academy of Dermatology described, gel nails have now been linked to nail brittleness, cracking and peeling, with repeated use connected to premature aging of the hands and even skin cancer.
As such, the expert nail technicians at the destination spa have selected a more natural alternative which still offers guests the quick-drying, long-lasting and high-shine finish of gel. Penelope and the Beauty Bar believes their Dazzle Dry manicures will last chip-free for several weeks and they have a vast array of on-trend colors for their clients to choose from.
In order to further benefit their guests, Penelope and the Beauty Bar has also made the switch to waterless manicures and pedicures, which have now been established to better nourish the skin and the nails.
The spa’s new waterless treatments include an essential oil-infused hot towel treatment and an exfoliating body scrub. Guests can also opt to add on a 15, 25 or 45-minute hand and arm or foot massage. Several of the beauty bar’s manicure and pedicure packages also include a paraffin wax dip to further moisturize the skin and strengthen the nails.
