Students can now complete their certification as a medical aesthetician using primarily online courses from the Dermsyk Medical Aesthetics Academy (647-247-2481). These recently updated courses combine online schooling and in-person training to provide certification in Basic, Advanced, and Master level aesthetic treatments, with few prerequisites.

The Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy is offering updated courses to students in Halifax and across Canada, using a unique hybrid training program that allows students to become fully certified in a wide range of Medspa treatments, while learning at their own pace, and primarily from their own home.

Details about individual courses and certifications, a full list of available training programs, and registration information can be found at https://dermysk.com/pages/academy

Though each of the updated courses includes practical, hands-on instruction, they also allow students to complete the knowledge portions of their training at home, or anywhere they can access the internet. After students complete the online learning modules, they will be scheduled for a one to two-week hands-on training program with a Dermysk specialist at their nearest Academy.

By allowing students to complete most of their learning online, the Dermysk team has made their career training accessible to students with children, other jobs, or unique circumstances. While the practical training does require students to attend daily classes, they can choose to take their practical training at any one of the four coast-to-coast Dermysk Academy locations in Canada.

New students with no previous experience may choose between two courses, Basic, or Master level. While each course includes complete certification in medical aesthetic procedures and allows graduates to begin working in the industry immediately, the Master level course includes all the training from the Academy’s Basic and Advanced programs, as well as exclusive training not found elsewhere.

Students of the Basic course will be certified in up to a dozen popular Medspa procedures, including radiofrequency rejuvenation, acne treatments, micro-blading, and laser hair removal. While this course lets new aestheticians enter the workforce sooner, it does not provide certification for more advanced techniques, such as stem cell treatments or Cool Sculpting.

To access certification in the full range of treatments, students can either enroll directly in the Master level training or upgrade their education with the Dermysk Academy’s Advanced course. To enroll in this course, students must have either graduated from the Academy’s Basic training or have at least 5 years of experience working in a medical aesthetic clinic.

One recent graduate explained, “The flexible and customized curriculum helped me develop my potential and achieve success in the industry.”
