Green Dream Company Owner/Operator Torey Mitchell announced that The Soup Mobile will be the beneficiary of the company’s new community outreach program “Save the Planet Feed the People”. The “Save the Planet Feed the People” program gives local businesses the opportunity to recycle their old paper documents and files for free with the added benefit of The Green Dream company’s pledge to donate a percentage of the per ton revenue earned from the resell of the material to The Soup Mobile to help with the fight against hunger in Dallas.

“The Soup Mobile is a great fit for our company’s charitable work. We believe that sustainability can only be achieved when we are mindful of the affect that our actions have on the well being of our planet’s crust, water, air, and most importantly the people. They reach out to many of those in our community that have fallen on hard times and need a little assistance to make it through these tough times” said Mitchell.

“The Save the Planet Feed the People” program creates a natural intersection for the worlds of environmentalism and philanthropy. This unique sustainability initiative will allow a variety of organizations and individuals to make a positive impact on the environment and people by simply recycling their caches of old unwanted paper files.  Based on the volume of paper recycled The Green Dream Company donates a percentage of the value of the paper to The Soup Mobile, and provides each client with a certificate that details the positive impact that their efforts had on the planet.

Mitchell said, “Our core values include a commitment to helping those in need in the community we serve. The ability to conserve natural resources, do good business, and be socially responsible is paramount to securing the future or our planet. At the Green Dream Company one very important way that we measure our success is by understanding and quantifying the positive impact that our activity has on the environment and the community.  This program will now allow us to add how many people received a hot meal right alongside other stats like how many trees or how much water was saved by our activity”.

About The Soup Mobile

David Timothy (a.k.a. the SoupMan) founded The SoupMobile in 2003. His vision was to start a traditional soup kitchen where the homeless could come to eat.

However, after assessing the needs of our homeless population, David realized that a mobile soup kitchen would be more effective. Because the homeless have limited access to transportation, the SoupMan serves meals to them where they gather.

“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile!” SoupMan

Our Philosophy

The SoupMan believes that there’s a little bit of Rocky in all of us. He also believes that in each one of us resides the spirit and the passion to triumph and be the champion of our own lives!
The SoupMobile will serve up to 200,000 meals in 2010! We are literally on the front lines of the war against hunger in the Dallas area.
