According to IMIRP Rapid Prototyping Managing Director Paul Bingham, the foundation of their rapid prototyping process is a 3D CAD file, which is either created by the client or by IMIRP on their behalf.

“From the CAD file, accurate SLA (stereo lithographic) or SLS (selective laser sintering) models can be produced, sometimes in a matter of hours. In their raw state, or after finishing and painting, these models can be used for visualisation, form, fit and function tests, or utilised as mould masters to form silicon and resin tools,” explained Mr. Bingham.

When completed, these tools can be used to manufacture polyurethane parts designed to simulate a wide range of production materials. Waxes can also be cast and used to make metal components via the investment process.

As a market leader helping UK designers and manufacturers develop new products with less time, cost and risk, IMIRP Rapid Prototyping particularly focus their attention on designers and manufacturers, for whom they provide a service that’s designed to save them time and money.

Being a well-established prototyping company boasting a wealth of experience dealing with small and large companies, IMIRP Rapid Prototyping is well poised to delivering on their prototyping and volume production services for the benefit of all UK-based designers and manufacturers.
