(Newswire.net) – Boston, December 5, 2012- First line manager transition training gives experienced first and front line leaders the perspective needed to meet the expectations that go with management responsibilities.  There is a certain attitude shift that accompanies such a change.

While a leader copes with change, a manager copes with complexity. A manager balances all the balls in the air that ultimately drive the change.

A leader works with the status quo, while a manager challenges the status quo to find what will improve the organization.

A leader asks what, but a manager asks why. Why does the organization need this, or do this?

A leader plans for the short term, and take the steps necessary to meet those goals. A manager plans for the long term, and sets the short term goals for which the leader plans to meet.

A leader organizes people and sets them to task; a manager aligns those people and resources so they available for the leader.

A leader motivates and inspires their team to accomplish great and wonderful things. They bring out the best to meet the organization’s goals. A manager administrates and controls those procedures and assets necessary to accompany the leader’s efforts.

A leader focuses on people. He or she know what drives their individual team members to succeed and meet expectations, and actively manipulates those drivers to optimize their team’s performance. A manager focuses on the systems and structures that enable their leaders. Those systems and structures provide the framework of the organization’s mission.

A leader follows the vision, and helps his or her team follow the vision. A manager communicates that vision to the leader and the staff, and delivers the support to meet it.

A leader works in the present, focusing on getting done what needs done in the most efficient and effective way. A manager looks into the future and provides the next goal for the leader to plan for, implement and attain.

First line manager transition training teaches new managers the skill sets, behavior changes and approaches to act in accordance with their new responsibilities.
