(Newswire.net — February 2, 2013) Austin, TX — Kenichi announced today that on Sunday, February 3, 2013, it will be transforming its central Austin restaurant in the downtown warehouse district into a venue that will host the best Super Bowl party in Austin. Kenichi and its staff won’t be focused on their usual award-winning Japanese cuisine on Sunday evening, but instead will be featuring the best food and drink specials in Austin during Super Bowl 47.
The 2013 Super Bowl will showcase the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Baltimore Ravens against one another on the field at the New Orleans Superdome, but Kenichi will be showcasing traditional football foods like wings and ribs. Executive Chef Shane Stark and Executive Sushi Chef Richard Lee are looking forward to the change of pace.
Kenichi regularly hosts an all-night happy hour on Sunday evenings, but this Super Sunday is going to be something totally out of the ordinary. As the Harbaugh brothers, Jim and John, coach their teams on opposite sidelines, Kenichi’s customers will be able to watch the game on two projection screen tv’s in addition to the flat screens already available in the bar area. However, the food and drink specials Kenichi will be serving is what will set Kenichi apart from the competition.
Kenichi’s manager, Josh Hallum, confirmed that this is one Super Bowl party Austin doesn’t want to miss. “I know our customers will enjoy Kenichi’s twist on everyone’s football favorite foods – wings and ribs – and the huge television screens that we’re setting up in the bar and dining room are going to blow people away. No one will miss a minute of the action or those now-famous Super Bowl commercials, so we invite everyone to come down and enjoy the game with us.”
The Super Bowl kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 pm, so be sure to grab your seat before then.
