Weight Loss Specialist Natalie Jill Reveals that Diabetes is Not an Obesity Disease

(Newswire.net — May 24, 2013) San Diego, CA — Fitness guru and weight loss specialist Natalie Jill reveals shocking, yet not so shocking information in her report titled “Diabetes without Obesity.” Natalie Jill begins by saying, “My sister Lindsay is not overweight. She eats healthy, does not have a “gut”, and she runs a minimum of 5 miles per day. Her cholesterol and blood pressure are perfect. She looks fit, athletic, and healthy. What you don’t know about Lindsay when you look at her is that she has diabetes, and has for almost 30 years.” While this may be shocking that someone extremely healthy could have issues with insulin, this is not uncommon.

What is the issue is Lindsay’s case? For starters, type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are severely genetic, and they are also known as “juvenile diabetes” but can strike at any age. Most people do not find out that they have type 1 diabetes until antibodies start attacking the islet cells in the pancreas. If the body does not have islet cells, then the body cannot produce insulin. Without insulin the body cannot break down sugar, so type 1 diabetics do not choose to become diabetics, it is usually inherited and makes a grand appearance at some point in life. It is not caused by being overweight, nor can it be reversed. This is not like type 2 diabetes that is caused by being overweight, because the more an individual weighs, the more insulin the body will need. This can be reversed with diet and exercise.

When talking about how to live with type 1 diabetes, Natalie Jill gives great tips and advice. “When you have type I diabetes it is important to work with a doctor closely on insulin adjustments. Depending on the type of workout, blood sugar can become dangerously low or spike exceedingly high.  Those spikes can lead to long term damage such as retinopathy, kidney damage, blindness, and more.  It is critical that you eat properly before your workout, and have fast acting “sugar” such as glucose tablets with you at all time in case you hit that unexpected low blood sugar mid-workout.”
