(Newswire.net — July 24, 2013) Port Republic, NJ — Anna Kozlowski, a Port Republic, NJ equestrian, will compete in the 2013 US Pony Clubs Championships East, July 25-28 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia. The Championships feature riders from all over the United States competing in the full range of equestrian events including, Dressage, Eventing, Mounted Games, Polocrosse, Show Jumping, Tetrathlon and Quiz.
Kozlowski is a member of the Shore Riders Pony Club based in Atlantic County, NJ and has been preparing for events like the US Pony Clubs Championships East for the past 12 years. She is both excited and nervous as the event draws closer. “I’m not one to get nervous, but this time around I have to be honest I can feel a bit anxious as the event comes closer,” said Kozlowski. “After tearing my ACL a while back, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m excited that I’ve been able to recover and to be able to compete in this big event.”
Kozlowski began riding at age 6 and studied under the tutelage of Judy Cook at River Run Farm in Germania, New Jersey and she currently rides and trains with the Shore Riders Pony Club at the Split Elm Equestrian Center in Egg Harbor, New Jersey. She qualified for the U.S. Pony Club Championships East at the Delmarva Regional Show Jumping Competition in Easton, Maryland on June 9, 2013
Anna and her horse “Kiddin’ Around” will head to the Virginia Horse Center to compete in the show jumping events in the Developing Horse/Rider (3’) Division. She and her horse will jump on five courses during the three days of competition. “Kiddin Around” is a 16h, 13-year old thoroughbred/quarter horse.
Anna Kozlowski currently resides in Port Republic, New Jersey. The 19 year old equestrian holds a USPC C2/HB riding certification and is currently a nursing student at Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ where she also serves as the Vice President of the International Justice Mission Ramapo chapter.
