(Newswire.net — Aug 16, 2013) Nashville, TN — Tennessee Online College, a brand new higher education resource, is now open online.

The TennesseeOnlineCollege.com website may help prospective students locate the right university, college or vocational training institution in the state of Tennessee.

“This new site is a place where state residents, or anyone who lives outside of the state, can take a quick look at some of the colleges and schools here in Tennessee,” says the website’s editor Victoria Burns.

The TennesseeOnlineCollege.com web site goes into details about both traditional local schools together with online solutions that are available to local students.

Burns said that while most of the schools are located in Memphis or Nashville, there are schools in other parts of the state as well. “Sure, Memphis and Nashville are home to the bulk of these colleges,” continued Burns, “But there are quite a few good schools scattered around the state as well.”

Burns additionally explained that the website discusses options that some prospective students may be overlooking. “Most students will attend one of the bigger colleges,” said Burns, “But students may be able to find a small school or a specialty school that really fits well with what their career options are.”

“Students really need to do their research before making a college decision,” Burns concluded, “And we hope we can provide a little input into their decision process.”

The website is provided for free, visitors do not need to pay or sign up to use it.
