(Newswire.net via Emailnewswire.com — August 16, 2013) San Diego, CA – To better meet the growing needs for the full range of family eye care services in our community, Dr. Eric White of Complete Family Vision Care is adding a new optometrist to the practice.  Dr. Matt Geller hails from Long Island, NY and brings a new side of eye care to the practice from his training at a top optometry school, the SUNY College of Optometry based in New York City.

Dr. Geller graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY and therefore has an extensive clinical background in vision therapy, pediatric vision care, and ocular disease management.  He focuses his study and clinical care into holistic optometry, addressing the individual and lifestyle instead of just seeing the patient as set of eyeballs. Dr. Geller is the founder of the largest website serving the wide ranging needs of optometry students throughout the nation.  With nearly 20,000 monthly visitors, OptometryStudents.com is providing valuable lessons for optometry students and keeps them plugged in to what matters most today in the field.

“I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work in the San Diego community next to Dr. White and all the technology housed in this practice. Dr. White and I have such a similar practice style and positive outlook on things; we are a natural match,” reported Dr. Geller. “I am all about supporting the community, so I am really looking forward to getting to know our patients and contributing something new to the eye health of our community.”

“We searched far and wide to find the right doctor to bring in to the practice,” reported Dr. Eric White, owner and sole practitioner of the Complete Vision Eye Care since 1985. “Dr. Geller will be a great addition to our team and is the type of doctor that will challenge us to be even better caregivers. I know that the community will join me in welcoming Dr. Geller to our practice by stopping by our office and introducing themselves.”

Dr. Geller also offered up a few tips for people on taking care of their eyes. He said, “people must understand that the eyes are closely linked to a persons systemic health and so good overall health typically means healthy eyes. Additionally, vision is much more than just seeing 20/20, and so many times there are hidden vision problems that are chalked up as ADHD or learning disorders, when in fact it is the visual system causing a life problem. Having an annual eye exam is essential for all ages and demographics.”

“Good vision is the key to being productive, happy and independent.  I wish this for all of my patients and try to work in partnership with them to keep their sight strong for many years to come.”
