SHOOTING STAR BAND INTRODUCES NEW SINGER AT UK’S FIREFEST
Established Performer Brings Passion For Music and Smooth Sound

Overland Park, KS, OCT 14, 2013 – When one has been a touring band with the likes of ZZ Top, Heart, Bryan Adams, REO Speedwagon, and John Mellencamp and released eight studio albums, including Shooting Star (1980), Hang On for Your Life (1981), Ill Wishes (1982), Burning (1983), Silent Scream (1985), It’s Not Over (1991), Leap of Faith (2000) and Circles (2006), it can be a hard sell to bring on a new guy.  Even the best teams are required to bring in fresh members to stay strong and that’s just what Shooting Star Band has done with newcomer, Lead Vocalist Todd Pettygrove.

Pettygrove, an established musician who’s performed a number of original songs, establishing his own sound and developing a great following as lead vocalist with  one of the premiere rock cover bands, Vandelyn Kross, is excited to bring his passion for music and incredibly smooth sound to Shooting Star, who will introduce him as a band member officially at at the Firefest music festival in Nottingham, United Kingdom on October 19, 2013.

The Firefest Music Festival is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary this year, October 18 thru 20th, 2013 – three days with 19 Bands
and 2 Acoustic shows.  Other bands playing with Shooting Star are Heat, Hardline, Van Groove, Heaven’s Edge and Treat.  Firefest is sponsored by Fireworks, The Melodic Rock Magazine.

Originally founded in 1970, Shooting Star Band met with some success, but by 1984 they had disbanded.  The current Shooting Star Band has been together since original band members Ron Verlin and Van McLain reformed the band adding new members in 1989.  This re-incarnation of the Shooting Star Band signed with Enigma Records and  broke into the Billboard Top 100 with their song, “Touch Me Tonight,” which later appeared as part of the soundtrack to the movie, “I Come In Peace.”
