(Newswire.net — October 21, 2013)Bobcaygeon, ON — The Raw Food Diet has become very popular in the past decade, but few children have been raised on Raw Food successfully.  However, young author “Raw Food Levi“, who has exclusively eaten raw fruits and veggies his entire life, (he is now 9 years old) has just released his book “Raw Food For Kids – Tales from an 8-Year-Old Raw Foodist“.

Levi says, “I wanted to help other kids and their parents to eat raw food so they don’t get sick and they have tons of energy like me.  So I wrote this book to show how I do it.”.  Already Levi has sold over 100 copies of his book and his website and videos are favorites among raw foodists and those interested in feeding their children a healthier diet.

Although many people think the raw food diet is all the same, Levi says that he doesn’t eat what most raw food diets talk about, and his raw food recipes are pretty different too.  Why?  Because he eats 99% whole, ripe, raw, fresh fruits and veggies and leafy greens.  His parents learned this from Dr. Douglas Graham and others that teach The 80/10/10 Diet.  This is really just a fancy way of saying you should eat mostly fruits and veggies instead of the normal raw food fare of nuts, seeds, avocado, oils and a lot of dehydrated foods.

More importantly, many parents don’t have a lot of raw food role models out there and they worry about how their child will handle being so different.  Levi shows kids and their parents how he packs his lunch and how his friends react.  He is very socially active and has no problems at birthday parties or sleep-overs.  Looking pleased, Levi says “My friends and kids at school are pretty good.  They don’t tease me and some kids even bring me my favorite fruit when we have special days like ‘pizza day’.”

Many people can’t believe Levi loves his raw food diet so much.  “I love fruit and I can’t wait to get home at night and eat my huge salad”, raves Levi.  A picture of him eating his giant salad has become a trademark for the young raw food author.

What’s next for Raw Food Levi?  Another book with more recipes and talking to kids and parents at Raw Food events.  Catch Levi next summer at the Woodstock Fruit Festival 2014 for sure, and the Toronto Raw/Vegan Festival.  “Soon, I want to be a Pioneer at the WFF.  I have eaten raw food longer than post people there.”, says a hopeful raw food leader!
